Hey Everybody!
A few beers that I wanna share:

Asylum Belgium Style Tripel Ale.
Asylum has a woodsy, smokey after taste.Sweet and bitter to start with .Reminds me of a ham sandwich.I don't know why.Strong alcohol content, too.Feeling a buzz after (3)sips.*Note* asylum mixed with Jose Cuervo gold Tequila taste like candy.

Heineken
I can remember the time these made their debut. The "Long Neck Heiney".My man , Travis, is a big Heineken supporter.we were all hanging at Ed's house and he comes through the door excited."Yo, They coming out with the Long Neck Heiney's tomorrow!!".The clerk at the local bodega had forewarned him.
Next day, he was passing them shits around like candy.

Red Stripe
This is the beer that got me started with Un-American beers.Back in my Rasta days, I did all tings Yardie.Ate Jamaican dishes, listen to all forms of Reggae, practiced some Rasta traditions, whatever. Some call this being "Ja-Faking".Wasn't trying to be Jamaican, just dug the culture.I met Bobby Konders and Jabba ( Hot 97 radio DJ/personalities, at the time) at a Press Day and drank the shit out this beer.Bobby says to me, "Dey shoulda sponsor ya".I'll never forget that. But I digress...

As for my own collection.A great lesson.I now have to get some more supplies for a new batch. My dumb ass told folks that I would be bringing them beer and now I don't have any to share...oops!
I'd also like to share some emails I got:

"Hey look, I  can relate to what your saying but you have to contain yourself if the plans are to  be a brewer like BUDWEISER , you have to give it chance to brew. I have faith in you but now you have to show me some, I RETIRED this pass Friday so now I can wait to hear from you as you PROGRESS in this big investment project.   "HOLD ON AND HANG IN THERE" I think you are on to something there."
E.Holmes, South Carolina

Thanks-Inky Mann

"Good to see you grinding on something new. Would love to taste some of that brew."

E Farrow, Virginia

Sure....Maybe the next batch.

Februaury 4, 2012

Oktoberfest 2011
Today was the day I took out the 14 day batch for bottling.
I'm also "conditioning" the 7 day batch.I feel great about this.I'm anxious, too.So anxious that I'm taking sips of unfinished product.I finished drinking a bottle from the 1st batch, that was half sealed.I took left overs from the keg and I'm drinking that , plus, I'm supposed to be conditioning 4 bottles , I'm only doing 3 because I cracked another bottle for the day....heheheheheheheheheheh...
I know that this is gonna take some time, but I wanna be a Brew master, NOW!!
Things are still attracting themselves to me in the form of Brewing, too.

  1. Groupon has this brew making kit available...hmmm....
  2. Super bowl party with the Brewers is tomorrow...
  3. I went to the launch, this past Wednesday at Churchill's Pub and met Chris Stawney, a brewer for Widmer Bros.If you look at the photo, he's the guy on the right. I tried their Widmer Brothers and Quaff Spiced IPA and Imperial Nelson IPA.Good stuff.
It's all hitting me at once.

Beer Bloggin'

Me: Getting my Buzz On
As a kid, My Daddy let me taste his Budweiser.Even though, then, I thought I drank some of my own piss, but I was a man ( I thought, at least ).Since then, I've acquired a taste for beer while traveling on a tall ship for the summer. That same summer I discovered 40 and 64 ounce malt liquor.as well as, the meaning of getting "faced".
Since moving to San Diego area of California, I've discovered there's a bigger world in beer than 40 oz's, The Green Monster 64, Buds and Heiney's.There's a culture. There's an ever bigger culture in homebrewing. Not to mention some have made it to the big leagues, Stone Brewing Company's Arrogant Bastard Ale, for example.
I did some volunteer work for Stone's anniversary in 2011 and actually met local Brewers posted up with their various "Craft Beers".That was my turning point, right there.
I wanted to brew my own beer.
So, this past January 21st, I bought a Mr Beer Kit and well under way with my brewing.I'm in the process of brewing a West Coast Pale Ale.I've bottled 4 beers, January 28th that I had fermenting for 7 days.On February 4, the day before the Super Bowl, I'll be bottling a batch I  had brewing for 14 days, as well as, I'll be opening a bottle or two from the 7 day batch.I brewed this way by design.
Since I've been on this journey more opportunities have presented themselves.I celebrate my 39th birthday February 1st and there are some local brewers launching a beer that day at a local pub!! Secondly, the local brewers association is throwing a Super Bowl party at a local pub!!!Talk about The Law of attraction....
